Historical

Baton Rouge is rich in history and invites visitors to explore the traditions. Louisiana’s Old State Capitol is a historic government building and museum and the current Louisiana State Capitol Welcome Center invites you to see Baton Rouge from the top of the Capitol Tower. Take a tour of the Old Governor’s Mansion, Louisiana’s official gubernatorial residence between 1930 and 1963.

Outdoor Adventures

Baton Rouge is home to endless outdoor adventures including the Baton Rouge Zoo, the Blue Bayou Water Park, the Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center, the LSU Ag Center Botanic Gardens, and Riverfront Plaza.

Shopping, Dining, and Nightlife

Spend a day shopping or catch a movie at the Mall of Louisiana or Perkins Rowe. For fresh produce, the Red Stick Farmers Market is open year-round. You will never go hungry in Baton Rouge – a few favorites are Jubans, Louisiana Lagniappe Restaurant. Take a tour of the Oxbow Rum Distillery and Tin Roof Brewing . Feeling lucky? There are a choice of casinos, with L’Auberge Casino & Hotel, The Queen Baton Rouge, and Belle of Baton Rouge Casino. And, the nightlife is full of life! Enjoy live music at The Basin Music Hall or Jolie Pearl Oyster Bar or watch your favorite sporting event at the Bengal Tap Room.
